CCV FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. I'm interested in joining, but I'm nervous about auditioning for a chorus. What can I do?

A. We don't hold auditions, so there's no pressure! Just show up and sing! If you're not sure which part you sing, the director can meet with you privately to help you choose.

Q. How do I join?

A. If possible, please send an e-mail to the CCV webmaster at mailto:ccvsings@hotmail.com to let us know you're coming, as well as to confirm the exact location of the rehearsal for the particular night you would like to attend.

Q. How much does it cost to become a member?

A. There is a $25 semester fee.

Q.  Do I have to purchase the music?

A. No, the chorus purchases the music, which is loaned to the members during the semester.

Q. Do I have to read music, or have a strong music background to join?

A. Our members range from those who can't read music to those who are very musically-inclined. All are welcome.

Q. What do I do if I can't make a rehearsal?

A. Please call your section leader or the director to let us know.

Q. What should I wear for performances?

A. The Dress Code is as follows:

Men: Black slacks, long-sleeved (Winter concert) or short-sleeved (Spring concert) white dress shirt, black (or other color) necktie (provided), black dress shoes.
